i'm sure that you've read a lot of what this may look like. babble about new years resolutions and all that jazz. this isn't that. this is MY new year. my new year begins on January 21st. this is the second mark of this life. two long hard years, but i'm glad i've made it. as my third year begins i look ahead, for i too am making changes, although for different reasons. i'm not changing because its a new year in the sense that most do. i'm changing because it carrys on the hope of a third year end and a fourth begin and so on. yesterday was the first day of my third year of no SI (self-injury). the last mark was made on 1/21/07 and continues to hold the title of such. i can't say it has been an easy addiction to break (and for anyone ignorant enough to say such things are non-addicting i have to follow the rule if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all) but i'm glad i did. three years before i could cut ties with cutting. i still smile a bit extra on the 21st of every month. some may not see the monthly excitement as important but for them it probably isn't. for me however it is a marker of one more month defeated, one more month put between me and the blade. and that makes it cause to celebrate, even if it is only a little. i want to thank everyone who has helped me cross off another year of my new life. you are all wonderful people and i couldn't have done it without you.

well i'm going to go now. i'm hungry and Mac should be done making food by now (providing she hasn't gotten overly distracted with her camera and burned the food...and the kitchen...and...is that smoke i smell???) hahaha. juuuuuuust kidding. i looooove you -grins overly innocent-
